The 2026 FIFA World Cup has produced plenty of memorable moments on the pitch, but one of the tournament's funniest rivalries continues to happen inside FOX Sports' studio.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexi Lalas traded another round of playful insults during live coverage this weekend, with Thierry Henry caught in the middle, trying and failing to keep a straight face. The exchange began when host Rebecca Lowe appeared on set wearing an all-black outfit.

"Rebecca, you look like you dressed for a funeral," Ibrahimovic joked. "Alexi is alive, don't worry."

Lalas, who wasn't about to let the jab slide, wasted no time making fun of Zlatan's all-white outfit.

"You look like you should be welcoming people to Fantasy Island," the former U.S. national team defender fired back.

As the two exchanged insults, Henry stood beside them grinning and shaking his head, clearly entertained by the ongoing feud.

The moment was just the latest chapter in what's become one of the World Cup's most entertaining side stories.

Earlier in the tournament, Ibrahimovic went viral after learning Lalas had been moved away from the main studio desk.

"Chaps, Alexi left us," Lowe announced during the pregame show.

"Who?" Zlatan immediately replied with a straight face, sending the studio into laughter.

Then came the knockout blow.

"Your plan worked Rebecca," Ibrahimovic said. "America, you're welcome."

The pair have also sparred over player legacies and tactics throughout the tournament.

Lalas previously argued that Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland could eventually surpass Ibrahimovic's legacy if he put together a strong World Cup performance.

"If this man has a big World Cup, boom, right to the top," Lalas said. "Even over this guy."

Ibrahimovic wasn't buying it.

"I'm not sure about that," he replied.

During France's opening match against Senegal, the two clashed again after Lalas criticized Les Bleus and called them arrogant.

"It's not arrogance, it's confidence," Ibrahimovic shot back. "Ignorant people will say it's arrogance. Intelligent people will say it's confidence."

Once again, Henry's reaction stole part of the spotlight.

Even off the air, Ibrahimovic keeps the jokes coming. Earlier this week, he posted a video of himself and Henry casually passing a soccer ball around the studio while intentionally keeping it away from Lalas.

"The studio will never forget," Zlatan wrote.

Whether they're debating soccer or roasting each other, Ibrahimovic and Lalas have become must-see television.
