Former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Leon Orr was arrested on Tuesday and charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, authorities stopped Orr because his car appeared to have illegally tinted windows. When the officers approached his black BMW, they "could immediately smell the odor of the marijuana coming from inside the vehicle."

Orr was eventually detained after exhibiting suspicious behavior, which included attempting to hide something in his shorts. Deputies ended up finding a gun, as well as three glass vials believed to be marijuana wax, and two bottles labeled as "kush syrup" inside a backpack in his car. Orr was booked and posted the $7,000 bond.

After discovering the news of Orr's arrest on Wednesday, Dolphins head coach Adam Gase cut him in the middle of practice, per Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.

Orr's release from the team comes just one month after he was promoted from the Dolphins' practice squad to the active roster in an effort to add some depth at the defensive tackle position. During the preseason, the Florida Gators product competed for a spot on the Oakland Raiders' roster, but fell short.

As a member of the Gators in 2014, Orr was kicked off the team when he got on the team bus and returned to Gainesville after finding out he wasn't in the starting lineup.
