Michael Vick Says He Wants to Play One Last Season in the NFL

Despite not being in an NFL training camp for the first time since, well, that time he was in jail, Michael Vick is still trying to keep his hopes to play in the league again alive by working out four days a week with both a personal trainer and a QB coach in Florida.

If Vick does happen to make a team (which, at 36, is a pretty long shot) he says this will be his final NFL season, telling ESPN "This is the last year for me and I am going to wait it out. I just want to put the helmet on one more time and dedicate myself to the game one more year."

Additionally he provided some insight on his workout, which involves running a mile every other day. Though that actually sounds like something you could probably just pound out when you get off work or whatever, consider that he's doing that run with ankle weights and a weighted vest.

While it may seem like do-or-die time for wannabe players without contracts, thankfully (we guess?) NFLers get injured all the time. That's what happened last year when Vick signed with the Steelers on August 25 following a shoulder injury to backup Bruce Gradkowski.

What we're saying is it's not time for him to start flipping through the want ads just yet.

Last year, as Ben Roethlisberger's backup with Pittsburgh, Vick played in five games, starting three, and threw for 371 yards with two touchdowns and a pick, also running for 99 yards.

Whether or not somebody's actually desperate enough for him to be able to put on a uniform again is something we guess we'll find out over the next few weeks.
