The Atlanta Falcons revealed their new uniforms for the upcoming 2020 season and as usual, people had a lot to say.
To no one's surprise. the team is keeping their red, white, and black color scheme. The home jerseys will feature an all-black colorway, which is a nod to the team's "Dirty Birds" era. When they're playing away games, players will wear white-on-white. There's also a "Rise Up" alternate uniform that uses a gradient color scheme. The "Rise Up" uniforms have a red jersey that transitions to black at the bottom to match the black pants. Outside of the three main combinations, the Falcons will mix the jerseys and pants together to create seven total looks.
The new jerseys will also feature "ATL" written across the chest and a stripe going down the side that is meant to resemble a bird's wing. Additionally, the team decided to use a new font for both the letters and numbers.
Although Falcons President Rich McKay claims that the team took a "fan-first approach" when creating the uniforms, they don't seem to be sitting well their faithful. The different font and gradient style has some people feeling like new jerseys should belong to a semi-professional organization or an arena football team, not an NFL team.
