New video shows what led up to Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter’s ejection for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott ... showing Prescott spit in Carter's direction first.
Carter didn't get to play a single down of the NFL opener on September 4, getting tossed by officials for spitting right on Prescott's jersey before the game even started.
However, new video shows what may have led to Carter's decision to spit on Prescott. In a zoomed-in clip, Prescott can be seen spitting on the ground in Carter’s direction before staring down the Eagles star.
Only a brief time later is when Carter and Prescott had their incident, only Carter's saliva landed directly on Prescott.
After the game, Carter regretted his actions—telling reporters in the locker room, "It was a mistake that happened on my side. It won’t happen again. I feel bad for just my teammates and fans out there. I’m doing it for them. I’m doing it for my family, also. But the fans, they showed the most love."
Carter continued, "Not being able to start the game even, finish the game, it f****d me up but we’re going to get it better. It won’t happen again. I can make that promise.”
As for Prescott, when he was asked about his initial spit, he said, "I probably spit 1,000 times throughout the game. I wasn’t going to spit on my linemen. I just spit ahead.” When asked about Carter spitting on him, Prescott said, "It was more of a surprise than anything. Unfortunate that he did. Hell of a player."
The Eagles went on to win the game by a final score of 24-20 after the game was interrupted by a lengthy weather delay caused by lightning storms in the area.
The Eagles will visit the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium for another matchup on November 10 where the incident will certainly be a topic of conversation.
