James Harden isn't ready to let his rivalry with Giannis Antetokounmpo go anytime soon. Recently, Antetokounmpo made some comments about Harden following the 2020 NBA All-Star draft, and in an interview with ESPN, Harden has hit back against him.
Antetokounmpo said that he was trying to decide whether he would pick Kemba Walker and Trae Young as his point guard earlier this month. When asked about Harden, he joked, "I want somebody that's gonna pass the ball, that's all I want."
Harden is averaging more assists than Walker this season, and he was quick to point this out in his interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols on Friday. "I average more assists than him I think," Harden said of Walker. "I don't see what the joke is. I don't even see it, I don't pay attention to stuff like that. I just know none of them can mess with me."
In a particularly harsh moment, he then singled out Antetokounmpo without directly dropping his name. "I wish I could just run and be 7 feet and just dunk," Harden said near the end of the interview. "Like, that takes no skill at all. I gotta actually learn how to play basketball and how to have skill. I'll take that any day."
