On Sunday, the NFC Wild Card game ended after Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph overpowered Saints cornerback P.J. Williams in overtime, for the game-winning catch with an extension of his arm that some—such as former NFL referee Terry McAulay—might construe as an offensive pass interference.

Joe Buck: “Oh! They will NOT review that touchdown for offensive pass interference.”

The game-winning pass wasn’t reviewed by the league, even though the rule to do so was created after last season’s blunder that robbed the Saints a chance at the Super Bowl. It should be noted that reviews in overtime can only come from the booth, and not from the coaches. Read some of the reacts to the Saints’ loss below, some of which were particularly cruel towards the Saints and QB Brees.

It’s so quiet on Bourbon Street right now that you can hear a mouse urinate on a half-eaten Po-Boy.

Now really... can u make this up?? Full extension of arm, in building they made rule for & they don’t review it!?? Let it stand? (Sorry In airport and cant hear) Wow!

I hope Sean Payton spends all winter whining about offensive pass interference now.

Help me here.... The NFL makes a rule so they can review a PI play... then they don’t review a possible missed PI call? Regardless of what the outcome would have been, thats interesting. Hmmm.

They didn't even review it????

Sean Payton is going to have some words.

People were quick to note that both Brees and Brady were eliminated on Wild Card weekend at the hands of lesser QBs.

Saints fans not liking the NFL refs? Why I never... pic.twitter.com/beeBeLFBLL

Brees was dramatically outplayed by Cousins, and people had jokes.

Saints fans were pissed.

Kirk Cousins has more playoff wins this decade than Tom Brady and Drew Brees combined

— Master (@MasterTes) January 5, 2020

Vikings fans were, um, not.

Could this mark the end of the old guard of NFL QBs? Fans sure thought so.
