Antonio Brown was cut from the New England Patriots back in September, but it would appear he's got his eyes set on a new home. Following a complicated few months that saw him accused of sexual and personal misconduct, Brown has reportedly spent his Friday morning working out with the New Orleans Saints.
As ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Twitter, Brown was in New Orleans for the workout. "Saints are doing their due diligence," he added.
Brown isn't the only player that the Saints are working out. Schefter added that sources said a number of wide receivers were at the workout on Friday, including Maurice Harris, formerly of the Washington Redskins.
Brown seemingly confirmed the reports when he shared a picture of a free agent waiver form on his Instagram Story. "Back to business," he wrote.
If he does join the team's lineup, there's a chance he could return this season after all. It would also be the fourth team he's been with in 2019, if the Saints commit to him before the end of the year.
Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders in March, but left the team in September after he demanded his release following months of complications and friction with general manager Mike Mayock. He later joined the Patriots the same month, but was dropped after his former trainer accused him of sexually assaulting her.
NFL has not concluded its investigation of Antonio Brown; uncertain when it will. Even after it wraps, Brown still could face additional discipline. Saints bringing in Brown for due diligence, not Sunday’s game vs. Panthers. But Saints take big WR swings; see Dez Bryant last year
