Michael Vick Congratulates Lamar Jackson on Breaking His Single-Season Rushing Yards Record

Vick's record was set back in 2006.

22-year-old Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson broke Michael Vick's single-season rushing record on Thursday night during a game against the New York Jets.

Vick's record, which was set back in 2006, was for 1,039 yards. Jackson started the game 23 yards shy of that.

After the record was broken, a clip of Vick congratulating Jackson was aired on Fox.

"Lamar, I just want to say congratulations on making history," the former quarterback said. "One of many milestones that you will surpass in your career. Best of luck in everything that you do. You deserve it. Keep up the hard work, and I'll always be rooting for you." 

Vick also took to IG to post a video in which he congratulates Jackson. "You got the juice now," Vick wrote in the post's caption.

"I know records are meant to be broken but I didn’t know it would happen in less than 12 years," Vick said in another clip. "You’re a blessed individual, you’re a great player, and I wish nothing but the best for you, keep chasing all those record books great things are ahead for you."
