LeBron James and J.R. Smith Went to a Future Concert to Prepare For the NBA Finals

How are the Cleveland Cavaliers preparing for the NBA Finals? If you're LeBron James and J.R. Smith, by going to a Future concert.

LeBron James has a lot of pressure on his shoulders heading into his seventh straight NBA Finals appearance. If his Cavaliers can somehow knock off the heavily favored Warriors, LeBron's case as the potential GOAT only gets stronger. So what's he doing to prepare for this momentous occasion? Going to Future concerts with J.R. Smith and other members of the Cavs, rapping his ass off without a care in the world.

"March Madness" appeared to be LeBron's favorite song—at least based on the footage caught on camera—because as you can see in the videos captured up top, he goes ballistic when it comes on. He did make one small change to the song, throwing up C's and replacing "Mavericks" with "Cavs" when the fellow NBA team came up. Understandable, I suppose.

Rather than sitting in a private box or heading backstage, it appears LeBron was quite content to be a man among the people, with fans in the crowd catching him dancing to the music all night long.

FLAN JUST TOLD ME SHE SAW JR, TRISTAN, AND LEBRON AT THE FUTURE CONCERT. WTF IM SO JEALOUS
Best concert iv ever been to last night... 12 rows back from future & joe Haden, lebron, Tristan & jr smith were all 2 rows behind us😍
Future and LeBron on the same stage last night completed my life. 🙏🏼 #NobodySafeTour
Future goes," Sorry for playing jumpman... we got LeBron in the building he passed all that up"😂

Future even made sure to give a shoutout to James during the concert, and alluded to his most recent accomplishment of breaking Michael Jordan's playoff scoring record:

LeBron and J.R. weren't the only Cavs in attendance; veteran wing Dahntay Jones shared a couple quick videos alongside the duo on his Instagram feed, and there were sightings of Deron Williams, Tristan Thompson, and Channing Frye at the event. Jones even caught King James mean muggin' in one of his shots on Instagram.

Somebody get Tyronn Lue 😂 pic.twitter.com/AQS91B0jEh

Though you might be wondering what Cleveland's coach thinks of all this, it's unlikely he'll be able to say much when it comes to Future fandom. Tyronn Lue made a scene at the team's NBA Finals victory parade last summer, when he stood in his vehicle escort and rapped Future's "Fuck Up Some Commas" to an adoring crowd:

Besides, this was basically a team-bonding activity, and when you're the defending champs you can do pretty much whatever you want. Aside from their loss in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cavs have steamrolled through the playoffs and appear ready as they'll ever be to take on Golden State. Taking time to decompress and enjoy a night with Future sounds like a great idea to me.
