Josh Norman took shots at a couple high-profile wide receivers in his new ESPN The Magazine cover story. One of those receivers was, of course, Odell Beckham Jr. Norman has gone to war with OBJ on several occasions over the course of the last 10 months or so as a result of the battle the two players had during a game last NFL season. So it wasn’t a surprise to see Norman continue it while speaking with ESPN The Mag, especially since OBJ had some things to say about Norman during an interview with GQ this summer.
What was surprising, though, was that Norman also took aim at Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas during his ESPN The Mag interview. While talking about Super Bowl 50, Norman highlighted the fact that Thomas only caught one pass for eight yards during the game—and he did so in a way that was sure to make Thomas mad.
"I don’t know what he was out there for," Norman said. "He was supposed to be an all-world guy, and I shut him down."
Thing is, Thomas doesn’t usually say much off the football field. So we didn’t really expect a response from him. But he was more than happy to respond to Norman on Tuesday afternoon with an epic tweet. Thomas tagged him in the tweet and everything:
Wow. You know you’ve touched a nerve when you get a response (featuring an emoji!) from Demaryius Thomas.
Meanwhile, OBJ was the one who took the high road and refused to talk about Norman when he was asked about the comments he made in his ESPN The Mag story:
Norman better look out this season. He’s obviously not making many friends right now.
