It was around this time last month that Kanye Westcalled out Adidas over creating Yeezy Day without his approval and now, he has his sights on the brand’s departing CEO, Kasper Rorsted.
Just moments ago, Ye shared an image on Instagram of a sham The New York Times front-page story with a headline that reads “Kasper Rorsted also dead at 60.”
There are smaller text that appear directly below, which says “I know what you’re thinking… who is Kasper? but even less importantly who is Kid Cudi?” The post caption also reads “God loves us.”
West has recently been very vocal about his dissatisfaction with Adidas and Rorsted. In June, West accused the brand’s new Adilette 22 Slides of being a “blatant copy” of his own Adidas Yeezy Slides, calling out Rorsted by name.
While it’s difficult to pinpoint West’s intentions with the new post, the fake New York Times page’s Aug. 24, 2022, date appears to be a reference to the timing of Rorsted’s announcement that he will step down as CEO of Adidas in early 2023.
Last month, West shared a similar photoshopped photo of The New York Times cover page that read “Skete Davidson Dead at 28” following reports that had alleged the split between comedian Pete Davidson and Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Referenced in both of the fake Times page is Kid Cudi, who had replaced West in this year’s Rolling Loud Miami lineup after he pulled out of the event.
West also called out Gap on social media last night after he alleged that the clothing company had “canceled” a photo shoot with his kids “without me knowing.” In follow-up posts, he laid out plans for opening Yeezy stores across the country and claimed part of his deals with both Adidas and Gap included plans to build said retail stores, none of which have come to fruition.
