Japanese clothing brand WTAPS has reunited with New Balance for an upcoming sneaker project.

The result is the muted grey-colored New Balance 990v6 colorway shown here, which will launch on Friday. Every single panel on the upper is covered in various shades of grey, ranging from the mesh to the suede overlays to the "N" logo on the sides and "USA" hit on the heel counter. WTAPS branding also makes a small appearance on the heel and on the insole. Breaking up the look is a two-tone FuelCell midsole along with a grey outsole underneath.

This isn't the first sneaker in the New Balance 990 series that WTAPS has collaborated on. Back in 2021, the duo co-created a grey 990v2 and before that, the brands released an olive-and-orange-colored 992.

Readers will be able to cop this WTAPS x New Balance 990v6 collab starting on Friday, Aug. 26, at wtaps.base.shop and at select retailers. The sneaker retails for 44,000 yen, which roughly converts to $300. Scroll through for a closer look at the project.
