Nike announces the launch of Nike Unlaced, a new project aimed at redefining the future of women's footwear.
The project was conceived with female sneaker consumers at its core, designed to inspire new products, innovations, and collaborations, all the while increasing female representation within the wider sneaker community.
Through the provision of a 'fantasy sneaker destination for women', the Nike Unlaced project will ultimately aim to increase to the progress of professional and everyday athletes through the creation of products tailored to women's specifications.
Alongside the project, Nike has specified four ways in which they will be thinking about women's footwear differently moving forward.
The first is the expansion of women's sizes by delivering unisex sizing on select styles and collaborations, extending to the full Air Force 1 and Air Max lines. Secondly, Unlaced will provide the opportunity for local product curations by influential creatives from New York, to London, and more.
There will be exclusive services - such as VIP member experiences - on offer to increase connectivity and access to products for women. Lastly, new voices will be brought on board to widen the scope for women's involvement with Nike through creative collaborations, such as with the likes Andrea Lieberman and the International Girls Crew.
