The Mission: Impossible team might reach a new level at the box office with the latest installment of the franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter saysMission: Impossible — Fallout is expected to bring in $59 million during its opening weekend. If it happens, it will be the most any Mission Impossible film has made during its debut in the U.S. box office. The film has already rung in $23 million on Friday. Considering the fact that MoviePass stopped working for users on Thursday and Friday, likely putting a dent in Fallout's numbers, it's definitely impressive for the film to still come out on top.

In comparison, 2000's Mission: Impossible II's opening weekend reigns at No.1 with $57.8 million followed by Rogue Nation's $55.5 million. However, these numbers are not adjusted for inflation. According to Box Office Mojo, the Fallout projections would place the film in fourth place if inflation is accounted for. With inflation, Mission: Impossible II remains in the No. 1 spot with over $99 million, followed by Mission: Impossible ($95 million), Mission: Impossible III ($67.5 million), and Rogue Nation ($62 million). Fallout already surpassed Ghost Protocol as well which earned a mere $15 million during its opening weekend at the box office.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which stars Tom Cruise, Angela Bassett, and Henry Cavill, is out in theaters now.
