UPDATED 6/16, 8:57 p.m.: Pete Davidson was hit with a misdemeanor in connection to a March 4 car crash in Beverly Hills.

According to the Associated Press, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged the 29-year-old comedian with one count of reckless driving, but declined to provide additional information about the incident.

“We believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home,” the DA’s office said in a statement. “Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision.”

Sources with the Beverly Hills Police Department told NBC News that speed was a factor in the crash, which occurred in a residential area. Responding officers reportedly described Davidson as cooperative and had no reason to believe he was driving under the influence.

The Saturday Night Live alum is scheduled to be arraigned on July 27. His representative told NBC News there will be no further comment on the case.

“In 2022, traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached the highest levels seen in 20 years,” the LA County DA's office wrote in a statement. “This is an alarming trend that we cannot ignore. As a result, it’s crucial that we take all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable.”

Pete Davidson and Chase Sui Wonders were involved in a car accident in the Beverly Hills area over the weekend, per a new report.

According to TMZ, which first reported on the incident, sources claim that Davidson was driving a Mercedes on Saturday evening when he “lost control” of the car. The car is further reported to have jumped a curb, at which point it hit a fire hydrant before running into the side of a home.

The damage to the residence appears to have been minor, i.e. the car did not go into the house itself. Early info from responding law enforcement, the report added, showed that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the accident. Additionally, no one had been arrested or charged at the time of this writing.

Davidson and Wonders have been the subject of numerous romance-related headlines in recent weeks, including amid fake Ice Spice rumors that were ubiquitous on Twitter in February. Last year, the two appeared together in director Halina Reijn’s well-received A24 horror entry Bodies Bodies Bodies, which is very much worth your time if you haven’t given yourself the honor yet.
