The Fast & Furious franchise begins its journey toward finality with this May’s Fast X, the first trailer for which was rolled out on Friday.

At a special trailer reveal event on Thursday, per a report fromVariety, star and producer Vin Diesel teased his choice for who should be the next actor to be initiated into the soon-to-end Fast & Furious franchise. As previously reported, the next film after Fast X is expected to be the final entry in the main franchise.

“Robert Downey Jr.,” Diesel said when asked who he’d like to see in the next film. “There’s a character that—without telling you too much about what happens in the future—there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom. And there is somebody that believes that’s the future and that is at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.”

Asked to reveal whether he has spoken with Downey about this possibility, Diesel responded with an impassioned growl.

“How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people?” he joked, post-growl. “I have pride and I have dignity.”

For now, the focus is on Fast X. See the massively (allegedly) expensive new film’s inaugural trailer up top. Tickets for the film, which hits theaters on May 19, are on sale now.
