Like Netflix before it, Disney+ will begin implementing a crackdown on password sharing as of Nov. 1.
The change comes following an announcement in August that saw CEO Bob Iger announce his intentions to reduce password sharing across the streaming service.
"Unless otherwise permitted by your Service Tier, you may not share your subscription outside of your household. “Household” means the collection of devices associated with your primary personal residence that are used by the individuals who reside therein. Additional usage rules may apply for certain Service Tiers," the new terms and conditions explain.
These new terms will apply to all users, however, Disney also mentions different subscription tiers may have different rules but those have yet to be announced.
Netflix did allow users outside the subscriber's household to continue watching, although it came with a monthly $8 price tag to do so. Disney's new terms may hint at a similar tier.
These changes will take effect on Nov. 1, except for annual subscribers in Quebec who will see the change on their next bill regardless of whether that comes before or after Nov. 1.
Earlier this year, Netflix Canada introduced measures to curb password sharing, although anecdotally, Canadians still seem to find a way.
