We all know Drake loves himself some basketball. In fact, he loves it so much that he dedicated a short video to LeBron James after the 38-year-old Lakers star passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for first place on the all-time scoring list.

The video, which aired on NBA on TNT, starts with Drake addressing LeBron directly praising him for making history last night in Oklahoma City. He then explains that he had to go to Akron, Ohio to go back to where it all began.

“LeBron, what a legendary night in NBA history. You’re breaking the all-time scoring record,” Drake said. “And to honour that, I had to come back to the place that it all started: Akron, Ohio. Every journey has its beginnings.”

After saying beginnings, the video takes an impromptu turn as the green screen behind Drake collapses, showing that he’s not in Ohio, but in a club in Miami surrounded by women.

Drake then admits he lied but gets the women behind him to congratulate LeBron on his achievement. He also posted photos of himself with LeBron over the years on his IG stories with the quote:

“Congratulations my brother @kingjames they probably will have something new to say tmrw but for now enjoy the praise which is like silence to us.”
