If you look up the IMDb page of Zach Galifianakis, you would unsurprisingly discover that one of the films he’s known for is 2009’s The Hangover but the actor said he will do everything in his power to prevent his two kids from finding out about his involvement in the trilogy.

“They shall never know of it,” Galifianakis jokingly toldEntertainment Tonight. “I’ll just deny it. I’ll say, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. I had nothing to do with that movie.’” The actor claims his sons, ages 4 and 7, aren’t even aware of real profession. “My kids think I’m a librarian somewhere. They don’t even know,” he said. “They think I’m an assistant librarian somewhere.”

Galifianakis understands he will one day “get to that point” where they watch the movies, but he just doesn’t want them to grow up too fast, as he has come across during encounters with fans. “You wanna protect their innocence as much as possible. They’re just children,” he explained. “People used to come up to me and be like, ‘Oh, my kids love The Hangover,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re a terrible parent.’”

“They need to mature a little bit before they see that,” he added.

Galifianakis lend his voice for the upcoming animated film Ron’s Gone Wrong which his two children can watch. It’s scheduled for an Oct. 22 theatrical release.
