After nineteen years of marriage, Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman has filed for divorce from her second husband, Keith Urban.

TMZ reported the news on Tuesday (September 30), just one day after the couple's separation was announced by the publication. Kidman and Urban share two children, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, who was born via surrogacy. Kidman's older adopted children, Bella Kidman Cruise, 32, and Connor Cruise, 30, are shared with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

In Kidman's divorce filing, viewed by Complex, the actress cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. She also says that she "should be named primary residential parent" of the couple's minor children.

Yesterday, TMZ wrote that the Babygirl star attempted to salvage her marriage with Urban even after the two have lived in separate households since the summer. "Keith has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home," a source told the outlet.

Now, it's being alleged that the country singer has begun dating another woman after he and Kidman celebrated their nineteenth wedding anniversary in June.

Kidman and Urban married in 2006, just five years after the actress divorced Cruise after eleven years of marriage. Last April, while honoring Kidman at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, Urban reflected on how his alcohol and substance abuse nearly "blew" their marriage to "smithereens" just four months in.

“And I went into the Betty Ford Center for three months. Four months into a marriage, I’m in rehab for three months,” Urban said. “I had no idea what was going to happen to us. And if you want to see what love in action really looks like, give that a whirl.

“Nic pushed through every negative voice, I’m sure even some of her own and she chose love,” Urban continued. "And here we are tonight, 18 years later."
