John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are dating, People reports.
“This is very new, they’re taking it slowly,” an insider told the outlet, adding that they met at a Los Angeles church.
News of the burgeoning relationship arrives just a few days after the comedian made headlines that he and his wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler, are separating. The announcement came after Mulaney’s two-month stint in rehab for cocaine and alcohol abuse, having suffered a relapse due to the pandemic. He started outpatient care in February.
Around the time that he entered his Pennsylvania-based facility, Munn shared her support for him on Twitter. “Sending SO MUCH love and support to John Mulaney. You got this,” she wrote in December. According to the outlet, the actress met Mulaney years ago and they maintained a friendship.
Tendler commented on the breakup through a spokesperson, saying she was “heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.” Mulaney reportedly asked his wife for a divorce three months ago. Munn was previously in a relationship with Aaron Rodgers for three years, before splitting in 2017.
Mulaney marked his return to comedy on Monday for a show at City Winery in New York titled “From Scratch,” in which he reflected on his recent stay in rehab.
