Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are stepping up in a time of crisis.

On Saturday, the celebrity couple announced they would match up to $1 million in donations to help support Ukrainian refugees. The commitment came just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized an invasion of Ukraine’s Donbas region. Since then, countless Ukraine has reported “serious losses” due to airstrike and missile attacks from Russia, prompting tens of thousands of civilians to flee to neighboring countries.

“In 48 hours, countless Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes to neighboring countries. They need protection,” Reynolds wrote, along with a link to the United Nations Refugee Agency. “When you donate, we’ll match it up to $1,000,000, creating double the support.”

Lively and Reynolds join a growing list of celebrities who are using their platforms to support Ukraine’s people. Stars like Kendall Jenner, Angelina Jolie, Mark Ruffalo, and director David Lynch have either penned messages of solidarity or directed fans to charitable resources. You can see some of their posts below.

Sending love and good prayers to all innocent people of Ukraine and Russia and Europe who are caught up in this sad and corrosive moment of asymmetrical violence and destruction, especially the young people. You have done nothing to deserve this perversion and obscene spectacle.
