Bill Cosby's Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame Vandalized Once Again

The disgraced comedian's star was defaced with the words "serial rapist" this week. A similar incident occurred in 2014, when someone scrawled "rapist" on Cosby's plaque.

Bill Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been defaced for the second time in four years.

According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities say someone scrawled the words “serial rapist” on the disgraced comedian’s plaque. Though it’s unclear when the vandalism took place, officers say they were notified about the incident at 5:30 a.m local time Tuesday.

LAPD officer Mike Lopez told the LA Times authorities have since cleaned up Cosby’s star. Several other outlets report investigators have no suspects at this time.

The vandalism went down about four months after Cosby was found guilty of drugging and molesting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 24.

The 81-year-old has been accused of sexually assaulting numerous women over the last several decades.

In 2014, comedian Hannibal Buress referenced Cosby’s alleged misconduct in a stand-up routine that quickly went viral. This sparked a wave of sexual assault claims against Cosby, as more and more women felt propelled to come forward with their stories. His alleged victims include supermodels Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson.

In 2014, as allegations mounted, Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was vandalized with the word “rapist.” Despite pressure from the public, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said it has no intention to remove Cosby’s star, which was bestowed in 1977.

“Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Leron Gubler, former Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president and chief executive, told Variety in 2015. “Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”
