Netflix recently announced that Sandler's Murder Mystery film broke a streaming record for the platform, marking the biggest opening weekend for a Netflix original film with over 30 million views in three days. Before this Halloween-themed comedy arrives, however, Sandler is set to deliver a more dramatic turn once again in A24's Uncut Gems, directed by the Safdie brothers of Good Time acclaim.

Earlier this year Sandler returned to Saturday Night Live to host, and during his appearance he shared a touching tribute to the late Chris Farley. The song originally appeared in his Netflix stand-up special, 100% Fresh. Of the experience of singing the song on SNL, he said it was "amazingly emotional because I just remember hanging out with him there so much, and how he kind of dominated my life there." He added that it was "extra heartbreaking" because so much of the stuff behind-the-scenes worked with Farley directly and loved him. "I tried not to cry."
