Josh and Benny Safdie have inked a first-look TV deal with HBO through their production company Elara Pictures that will run for two years, Deadline reports.

Elara Pictures was started back in 2014 by the Safdies, Sebastian Bear-McClard, and Ronald Bronstein. Dani Bernfeld, an executive at Paramount and Chernin Entertainment, has also joined Elara as a partner to produce. Any television series that comes from their newly inked HBO deal would be the brothers' first though they did appear on an episode of the HBO comedy series Togetherness back in 2016. A24, the company that distributed the Safdie brothers' critically acclaimed film Uncut Gems, will executive produce the projects that arise from the deal, as well as certain projects outside of it with Elara. A24 isn't new to HBO as they are producers on the drama series Euphoria. Outside of HBO, A24 has produced Hulu's Ramy, Netflix's John Mulaney And The Sack Lunch Bunch, and are also working on the upcoming Apple series Mr. Corman.

Uncut Gems, which stars Adam Sandler, was released to theaters back in 2019 and went on to win multiple awards. If you missed it, or just want to watch it again, you can now catch the movie over on Netflix. Josh Safdie Benny Safdie directed the film and also co-wrote it with Ronald Bronstein.
