The long-time star of the series broke the news by posting a video to Instagram with the rapper as they both wrapped a day of shooting on the set. Cardi was decked out in tactical gear with Diesel wearing an open leather jacket as they both fought to stay awake.
"Day 86 here on the set of Fast 9. We all gave every single thing we could for this movie," he said.
Cardi agreed that making movies is exhausting.
"I'm tired, but I can't wait. I ain't gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one," she said. "I need to take a nappy-nap. I'm ready to take my nappy-nap."
Cardi made her big-screen debut this year, starring alongside Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu in the movie Hustlers. Folks who liked her performance won't have long to wait now, with her appearance in Fast dropping in May 2020. That movie will also see the return of Charlize Theron, reprising her Cypher character (albeit without the dreadlocks). While it's not known whether The Rock squashed his beef with Vin Diesel in time to appear in Fast 9, a recent, conciliatory Instagram post suggests that he'll definitely be around for Fast & Furious 10.
