The boys from Stranger Things think the series could wrap in one or two more seasons, Yahoo reports.
On Saturday, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Noah Schnapp spoke with ET at the 2019 MTV Awards about Season 3 and when they think the show will end.
“The Duffers have done so much for the characters in such an amazing way,” Wolfhard—who plays Mike—said of the show creators. “We're biased, but we truly believe it's a fantastic season.”
When the comparison was made to the Game of Thrones cast, who weren’t that enthusiastic about the show’s last season, Schnapp—who stars as Will—said, “They have a lot to go up against.”
“And also, this may not be our last season,” Wolfhard added. “We don't know.”
When asked when they think the show should end, Schnapp said, “Probably like, five [seasons].”
Matarazzo—who plays Lucas—explained that the show should go on if a natural storyline exists between the characters. “I think we should stop whenever the story feels like it needs to be completed,” he said. “I don't think any story should be pushed. If there's no more story, there's no more story.”
Wolfhard agreed: “I think we only need one more to like, tie it all up. Either one or two more. At least one more to tie it all up.”
However, the boys confessed that Matt and Ross Duffer have refused to discuss the show ending. “Sometimes we're like, ‘It would be cool to have five seasons,’ and they're like, ‘We're not telling you anything,’” Wolfhard shared.
Yet, it seems Millie Bobby Brown knows exactly how the entire series will wrap. In an interview with Digital Spy, she said, “I know exactly what happens. Very scared.”
Stranger Things 3 premieres July 4 on Netflix.
