The anticipation surrounding the return of Stranger Thingsonly grows as the Season 3 premiere inches closer. One of the stars of the Netflix series, David Harbour, added to the hype when he spoke about the emotional finale at MCM Comic-Con on Saturday.
While fielding questions about the upcoming release, Harbour revealed that this season will touch on the father-daughter relationship his character Hopper has with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). During his explanation, the actor notes that the Season 3 finale is "very, very moving."
"Millie [Eleven] is growing up and I think that's the terrifying thing for Hopper. He doesn't like the idea of his baby daughter hanging out with boys," Harbour explains. "So the season starts with him a little bit uncomfortable. His daughter is becoming a teenager and beginning to find herself, so that's scarier for Hopper than any Demogorgon creature that he's going to have to deal with."
He then disclosed that these emotions hit a peak during the eighth and final episode of the season. "You get to see a lot of that throughout the season and it's very unexpected what happens in the end and it's very, very moving," Harbour said. "I think episode eight is the most moving thing we've ever shot."
Outside of his role in the Netflix drama, Harbour also starred in this year's reboot of Hellboy. Unlike his award-winning performance on Stranger Things, Harbour's Hellboy was not met with fanfare and acclaim. During the Comic-Con panel, he discussed the underwhelming response and admitted there were "major problems" with the film. "We did our best, but there's so many voices that go into these things and they're not always going to work out," Harbour said. "I did what I could do and I feel proud of what I did, but ultimately I'm not in control of a lot of those things."
The upcoming season of Stranger Things will hit the streaming service on the Fourth of July.
