Bumblebee movie pushed up

Paramount has decided to host a sneak preview of its TransformersspinoffBumblebee for one day and one day only, on Dec. 8, two weeks ahead of its slated Dec. 21 opening.

According to Deadline, fans can purchase tickets to catch the film early at participating locations. Tickets to the preview also include access to bonus content and a Transformers: Tiny Turbo Changers Movie Toy from Hasbro. Tickets go on sale today, Nov. 21.

Bumblebee is a prequel directed by Kubo and the Two Strings' Travis Knight from a script by Christina Hodson and Kelly Fremon Craig. Set in the late 1980s, Bumblebee tells the origin story of its titular character with help from star Hailee Steinfeld (The Edge of Seventeen) and a supporting cast that includes Pamela Adlon, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., and John Ortiz.

Knight said directing this new film reminded him of all the time he spent as a child with Hasbro toys. "When I was a kid, I spent hours playing with Transformers toys and making up stories about these amazing characters," he said. "So it's been an incredible adventure to come to set every day to tell the story of who Bumblebee is and why we love him."

"We had the best time making this movie and I am so excited for you guys to see it in theaters this Christmas," Steinfeld added.

For those of you not going to the early release showing, Bumblebee hits theaters on Dec. 21.
