DJ Khaled and Rashida Jones Join Will Smith in Animated Movie 'Spies in Disguise'

DJ Khaled, Rashida Jones, Karen Gillan, and Masi Oka will join Will Smith and Tom Holland as voices in a new animated film.

Rashida Jones, and DJ Khaled are set to join Will Smith and Tom "Spider-Man" Holland for the Fox animated movie Spies in Disguise. Also joining the film are Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Who), Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One, Bloodline), and Masi Oka (Heroes, Hawaii Five-0), Deadline reports.

Spies in Disguise will follow Smith's charming spy Lance and Holland's Walter, Lance's gadget guy. While that all sounds fairly vague, Deadline adds that the movie is based on a 2009 animated short called Pigeon: Impossible. So if you have any further interest that's a thing you can go check out over at YouTube. Spies is slated for a September 2019 release and will be co-directed by animator Nick Bruno (Epic) and storyboard artist Troy Quane (Ferdinand).

While there are many (or at least a solid amount of) big names attached, the aforementioned person who's on a serious roll when it comes to animated ventures is Rashida Jones. Just a few days ago it was announced she'll voice a character in an Amy Poehler-led animated series Duncanville, which Fox just picked up for a 13-episode run. Also voicing someone in that series will be Wiz Khalifa.

Khaled has appeared as himself in films like Pitch Perfect 3 and Popstar, but his first foray into voice-acting came a couple weeks back, with the Nick Jr. show Blaze and the Monster Machines:
