In addition to revealing he has “probably 200” songs with Lil Uzi Vert and teasing a potential Drake collaboration, Yeat also gave fans an update on plans for his next project in his new Complex cover story.
In Yeat’s own words, fans can expect “a whole different sound” from him this time around.
“It’s just rap beats mixed with… It’s just a different style,” Yeat explained when teasing what he’s been working on as of late. “It’s not regular rap beats. It’s a whole different new wave.”
What will remain is Yeat’s highly selective approach to the utilization of guest features. On his most recent project Lyfë, for example, the aforementioned Lil Uzi Vert stands as the lone guest on the 12-track release. Speaking with Complex, the 22-year-old artist declared it “kind of weird” to have “20 features on an album.”
As for when such a project might be rolled out, Yeat confirmed he already has a release window in mind (“January or February”) and noted that, at the time of the interview, he had about 16,000 songs on his computer.

Lyfë, released in September, marked Yeat’s second new project of 2022. In February, he delivered 2 Alivë, followed just two months later by the deluxe-ified (and Uzi-featuring) 2 Alivë (Geëk Pack). The standalone viral hit “Rich Minion,” meanwhile, was recently named by Complex as one of the best songs of the summer.
