Tyga has shared the video for his introspective new song “Lifetime,” which sees the rapper slow things down from his usual party-rap stylings.

“Lifetime” features the rapper at his most relaxed, reflecting on past relationships over some hazy production. “Gotta manifest, gotta be best friends/Gotta be movin’ P, gotta tap in,” he raps on the track. “Baby, you deserve better and I’m not him/But I know when we happy, we be locked in/And it’s some shit I just comprehend/Maybe I deserve better and you not her.”

The song is accompanied by a moody video, which features Tyga surrounded by city lights as he casually raps while scrolling through his phone.

“Lifetime” arrives not long after Tyga once again teamed-up with Doja Cat for “Freaky Deaky,” a decidedly different track that sees him in his pop-rap zone. The video for that one was also a lot more extravagant, featuring polished visuals from director Christian Breslauer. It’s not clear if “Lifetime” is taken from a forthcoming project, or if the song is a one-off drop to tide fans over until the arrival of the follow-up to his 2019 album Legendary.

Last month, Blac Chyna, the mother of his child King Cairo Stevenson, claimed that Tyga had failed to pay child support to help raise their son. In response, he said that he pays $40,000 to send his son to school, and that he lives with him Monday through Saturday, which means he doesn’t need to pay any child support to Chyna.
