After T.I. was booed during a comedy set this weekend, he’s promising fans the moment will only motivate him.
The Atlanta MC—who just had a spat onstage with comedian Lauren Knight—took to the stage at the April Fools Comedy Jam at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday, where his comedic work was not welcomed entirely warmly. Videos from the event show fans booing T.I., and he’s acknowledged things may not have gone so hot.
“Embracing every part of the process,” Tip wrote on Instagram. “Enjoying every step of the journey. We don’t fold we FIGHT‼️ Fall or fly til the bitter end. New York I Love You & Thank You for one of my favorite moments in my comedic career. Adversity is just what I DO🤷🏽♂️…. shit get easy and i get bored so…this aughta keep my mind at work & motivated.”
T.I concluded his post by shouting out Rip Michaels for allowing him to hop on the tour, which also features comedians Nick Cannon, HaHa Davis, Eddie Griffin, B. Simone, Tony Roberts, Bruce Bruce, Michael Blackson, Joe Torry, and Jacob Williams, with Lil’ Kim, Moneybagg Yo, and DJ Envy providing some music.

In an Instagram Live reposted by the Shade Room, T.I. said he didn’t feel the crowd was “booing him,” but rather daring him to “be more funny” and “overcome” the adversity.
“I feel like that’s what they challenged me to do and I did it, I loved it,” he said.
Michaels shared after the event that “everyone, whether they are rich, poor, famous or not, deserves to follow their passions, but not everyone would have the courage to do what Tip is doing.”
“I am proud to be the first person to hire Tip as a paid comedian,” Michaels said in a statement. “I gave him the opportunity to test his skills in a sold-out stadium at my April Fools Comedy Jam at Barclays Center, knowing how tough the Brooklyn audience would be. I commend him for the way that he handled himself. Everyone gets booed. Welcome to the club, Tip! It was going to happen eventually.”
And while it did happen, he’s embracing it, even sharing a video of Bernie Mac saying “I ain’t scared of you motherfuckers”:
T.I. also recently took to Instagram to share that he and Knight wound up on good terms after their heated exchange last week in Atlanta. Their issues first took place after Knight joked about T.I.’s sexual assault allegations during an event, and as T.I. apparently heckled her during her set and called her a “bitch.”
“After speaking to Lauren, what she said was, we was both lit and we dealt with it that night and I left it there, as I felt the same way,” the rapper said. “So at the end of the day, ain’t nothing now we can do once you sold all the tickets to the rivalry. Ain’t nothing else to sell but the reunion.”
