What the world needs now, right at this very moment, is a new Pusha-T album.

In an interview on Instagram Live on Tuesday night with Biddy for the Behind the Velvet Rope show, King Push was asked if he was currently in the studio working on what will be his follow-up to the 2018 instaclassic Daytona.

“I’m working on the album right now,” the G.O.O.D. Music president and Heir Wave Music Group founder said around 46 minutes into the interview. “I haven’t titled it. Probably 12 [songs]. I usually don’t do a lot of extras. I feel like I have some extras right now but I’m gonna keep 12.”

Asked for more clarity on just how close the new album is to being completed, Pusha-T said another session with Kanye West is next on the agenda.

“I gotta go sit in with ’Ye for a little bit but other than that it’s just these 12,” he said. “That’s what it’s gonna be.”

Understandably, Push is also confident that the quality of this new album will be indisputable.

“I’m gonna have the best album that drops in 2021,” he said. “For sure.”

Earlier this month, Steven Victor said during a Q&A session on the Complex Music Instagram that Pusha-T’s new album will boast “half Kanye, half Pharrell” production. Victor’s comments, of course, added more specificity to Push’s own reveal in late 2020 that West and the Neptunes will be handling production duties on the upcoming album.
