The same creative mind behind last year’s Diet Yeezus is at it again, this time bringing together the uniquely soothing sonics of the artist formerly known as Kanye West’s Donda and Frank Ocean’s Blonde

As part of the accomplished collagist’s ongoing efforts in “creating the Kanye West multiverse,” including via Patreon, Toasty Digital’s Blonda mixtape continues the seamlessness found in those aforementioned projects. As Toasty explained to Complex, the latest full-length mashup experience—which includes an impressive visual aspect—marks one that’s actually been the subject of teases dating back to the pre-Donda era.

“I’ve been teasing this mix since before Donda was even officially announced so it’s a miracle that it all came together,” Toasty told Complex. “Originally I wanted this one to cap off the whole 2049 universe but there’s just too much Kanye material I still want to cover. The Jesus Is King stems are available now so that’s probably where I’m headed.”

While the tape should indeed be enjoyed in full, highlights include the emotional immediacy-centered “Another Life,” which sees Ye’s “Come to Life” and Frank’s “Nikes” serving as the perfect concoction for ponderousness, and the otherworldly bounce of “On the Air.”

As more studious fans will note, Toasty is among those who have become exceedingly proficient with Yeezy Tech and Kano’s potentially game-changing Stem Player device, which—to the delight of creatively inclined listeners—allows for a truly immersive customization experience.

“The stem player is dope (as a concept, less so in practice because it’s impossible to hold comfortably). Really game-changing are the stems themselves though,” Toasty told Complex of his work with the Stem Player. “Ye’s notorious for endlessly reworking his songs and now he’s given his fans the tools to do the same thing. Fans have come to expect all media to be interactive now, even music, and Ye is innovating to meet that challenge.”
