Less than a week after its release, Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” is eyeing a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100, according to Chart Data. Should the feat be accomplished, Nas X would become the fourth artist in as many weeks to debut at No. 1 on the chart (following Drake’s “What’s Next,” Cardi B’s Up,” and Justin Bieber’s “Peaches”).

The 21-year-old artist took to Twitter on Tuesday to celebrate the news, telling fans that if his single debuts at No. 1, he’s buying all six million of his followers a “12 pack of Hanes socks.” The gift offering is the latest troll job in a week that’s seen Nas X entangled in a series of controversies, from the “Montero” music video backlash to the “Satan Sneakers” to the Nike lawsuit

However, aside from causing Satanic Panic amongst religious fundamentalists, things are looking up for Nas X. Two years removed from scoring the highest certified song in RIAA history with “Old Town Road,” the rising star is busy prepping his official debut album, Montero, which is scheduled to be released sometime this summer.
