When Billie Eilish recently stopped her show to help a fan who couldn’t breathe, she also made a comment that some have translated as a diss toward Travis Scott.

“I wait for people to be OK until I keep going,” Eilish said.

Now, Kanye West is asking the singer to apologize to Scott and the families of the Astroworld Festival victims. The Donda rapper took to Instagram on Thursday, opening by saying “come on Billie we love you” before writing that “no one intended” for the tragedy to happen and that “Trav didn’t have any idea of what was happening when he was on stage.”

Ye also wrote that Scott “was very hurt” by the incident and that he will be with Kanye at Coachella. “But now I need Billie to apologize before I perform,” Ye concluded.

Billie Eilish commented on the post, writing that she did not mention Travis Scott while on stage.

“Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan,” Eilish wrote.

Both Eilish and Ye are headliners for Coachella 2022.

Eilish was performing on Saturday night in Atlanta for her Happier Than Ever Tour when she saw a fan was having difficulty breathing. The fan needed an inhaler, which Eilish happened to have on hand.

“It’s OK, we got one,” Eilish said. “Give her some time. Don’t crowd.” The pop star also asked if the fan wanted to be moved so she could breathe better, with Eilish mouthing “I love you.”

The tragic Astroworld Festival ended in the deaths of 10 attendees and led to hundreds of injuries in November 2021. After numerous families filed lawsuits against Scott and Live Nation, almost 400 suits for 2,800 alleged victims have now been consolidated under one major case.

Kanye’s comments also come a week after he called out his ex Kim Kardashian for allowing their daughter North to be on TikTok “against my will.” His outrage sparked a back-and-forth between him and Kim, with West taking a number of swipes against her, including him alleging that she “accused me of putting a hit out on her.”
