In a recent interview Pusha-T said that Ice-T influenced his name as a performing artist, and now the rapper and actor has shared his response.

In a clip from an interview with Revolt TV at the Grammys, King Push confirmed that Ice-T inspired his rapper name thanks to his 1988 single “I’m Your Pusher.” Asked if he ever got the opportunity to tell Ice about this, Push said he got a chance when he ran into him outside of a hotel one day.

“I seen him standing outside of a hotel one day and I actually did tell him,” Pusha said. “I actually gave him all his flowers, right then and there, I had to … He told me he was actually a fan of my work and that was enough for me.” Ice-T caught wind of the clip, and decided to share the love back.

“Absolutely nothing but respect to [Pusha T],” wrote Ice-T upon reposting the clip. “Love is love 👊🏽 Plus he’s one of the Best to ever do it.. 💎."

In the lead-up to the Grammys last week, Push confirmed that he’s going to keep the momentum on his career going in 2023. In fact, he confirmed that he plans to follow-up It’s Almost Dry with a DJ Drama-hosted Gangsta Grillz mixtape, which he told Complex was inspired by Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost.
