Fresh off co-writing Steve Lacy’s recent No. 1 hit “Bad Habit,” singer-songwriter Fousheé returns with her latest full-length offering, softCORE.

A follow-up to Fousheé’s 2021 debut album Time Machine, the 12-track project features the previously released singles “I’m Fine,” “Supernova,” and the Lil Uzi Vert-featuring “Spend The Money.”

softCORE comes on the heels of Fousheé’s recent hot streak of guest appearances. Since the top of 2022, she has delivered features for Saba (“Make Believe”), Steve Lacy (“Sunshine”), and Kenny Beats (“Last Words”). Meanwhile, Fousheé also co-penned a handful of tracks off Lacy’s latest album Gemini Rights: “Bad Habit,” “Mercury,” “Cody Freestyle,” and “Sunshine.”

Earlier this week, Fousheé sat down with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe to discuss her new LP, which she says is “very much about balance.”

“It’s pretty literal, soft, hard core,” she explained. “And my vulnerable side balancing out the rage in me. And it very much reflects the textures in the project. How I felt emotionally, maybe more like the hardcore side I was trying to get out in this project. Wanted to let a lot out. And then the sounds, I do feel like compliment that. But that did take the forefront in how I felt. But I didn’t want it to steal the show. I still wanted to embrace the soft side and not … Each has its place. So it just became a journey of finding balance.
