DaBaby considers his new YoungBoy Never Broke Again collab project to be on par with that of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s 2011 opus Watch the Throne.

“Music? Like you talking about music and a body of work, it ain’t been no collab project that’s fuckin’ around with that since probably, you probably gotta go to like Watch the Throne with Jay-Z and Kanye type shit,” the North Carolina rapper said of his Better Than You project in an interview with DJ Whoo Kidd starting just before the 5:00 mark above. “Nah facts, it’s dope as hell, like sonically, everything. Like different styles of music that’s on that bitch. And it’s just, it’s all the way there. It’s all there.”

The braggadocious flex from DaBaby comes after Better Than You is estimated to move only around 25,000-30,000 units its first week. While these numbers are just projections, OTF affiliates have already taken to social media to clown DaBaby and YoungBoy for their tepid numbers due to a brewing feud between YB and Lil Durk’s OTF collective.

“CAN’T BLAME DABABY HE THOUGHT THAT MAN WAS GNE SAVE HIS CAREER,” OTF affiliate Memo600 tweeted out on Monday. DaBaby ended up issuing a lengthy response to Memo, saying he won’t engage in internet feuds and has no stake in YoungBoy’s current beef.

“@Kingvonfrmdao GOT my respect, he stood on business no excuses, it was just another n***a there ready to stand on business to,” DaBaby wrote in an Instagram post. That’s how we living that’s what GANGSTA is ain’t it? But the rest of you hoe ass internet n****s tryna be cool off ANOTHER n**** name…is some HOES! We are NOT the same my boy!"

The late King Von’s first posthumous record What It Means To Be King dropped on Friday as well, and OTF members saw YoungBoy’s decision to drop a tape on the same day as an odd coincidence. Von’s album is projected by Hits Daily Double to move around 60,000-65,000 units its first week, which if true would be more than double the first week numbers of Better Than You.
