Today in Well That Actually Probably Should Have Happened a Long Time Ago Don’t You Think, we have the great joy of reporting that Drake, the man, has appeared on the cover of The Drake, the magazine.

This Drake-meets-Drake moment, as revealed by the fly-fishing magazine on Instagram on Wednesday, sees the For All the Dogs artist wading patiently whilst donning the appropriate attire for such activities. The Fall 2024 issue is teased as also including coverage on everything from flying ants to untangling to “the Atlantic salmon legacy of Bill Taylor,” former president and CEO (now senior advisor) of the Atlantic Salmon Federation.

Drake and Nike’s NOCTA label, notably, is tagged in the IG update from The Drake.

For those unfamiliar, the publication is billed as “a quarterly fly-fishing magazine for those with an uncommon love and dedication to the sport.” It was founded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1998 by Tom Bie. As of this writing, the Drake-featuring issue did not appear to be listed as being for sale via The Drake’s official website. The most recent issue available to buy is its Summer 2024 edition, as seen here.

This past weekend, Drake’s aforementioned Dogs, featuring the “Big 3”-questioning “First Person Shooter” with eventual beef exiter J. Cole, marked its first anniversary. As is par for the course for the 6 god by now, the album debuted in the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart upon its release last October. The months since have been dominated by coverage of his and Kendrick Lamar's subsequent back-and-forth, with Drake next expected to release a new project with frequent collaborator PARTYNEXTDOOR.

But first, Drake’s OVO label will launch its recently teased OG collection, complete with a campaign starring Drake himself. The collection will be released this Friday.
