Trae Tha Truth is currently dealing with some legal trouble.
The Houston native turned himself in to authorities on Dec. 29 and has been charged with a misdemeanor for assault causing bodily injury after attacking Z-Ro back in August, according to a news release. Z-Ro, also a Houston rapper, pressed charges against Trae in connection to the altercation.
A video from WorldStar shows Trae giving himself up to police.
Video also shows Z-Ro in a fetal position on the ground as he’s being assaulted. He discussed the attack in an interview with Fox 26, telling the outlet that he was at a restaurant and mingling with fans when Trae asked to talk. Later, when the two met, Trae and a handful of other people kicked and hit Z-Ro. Some of his jewelry was also stolen.
“It’s Trae Tha Truth. Yeah, he asked me to, after I was finished doing what I was doing with a fan, to come and speak to him,” Z-Ro told Fox 26. “So, I went over there with the intentions of speaking, and speech is not where we’re going. That’s not what took place, speech. So, it was a lot of, like I said, I was sucker punched and then I was jumped after the sucker punch.”
Trae is now out on bail.
