Kid Cudi Ecstatic Over ‘Entergalactic’ Emmy Nomination, Says Travis Scott Was First to Send Congratulations

Cudi shouted out "the whole team who busted their asses for 3 years and brought this bad boy to life" after his Netflix film scored an Emmy nom.

Kid Cudi is an official Emmy nominee.

The "Porsche Topless" artist's Netflix film Entergalactic is up for the Outstanding Animated Program award. The one-hour and 32-minute flick will battle against fan-favorite series Rick and MortyThe Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, and Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal for the honor. 

Entergalactic premiered in September 2022 and immediately grabbed the hearts of many fans and critics. Not only did Cudi produce and star in the picture, he also put out a companion album of the same name.

In the wake of the Emmy nominees being announced Wednesday morning, Cudi took to his Twitter in celebration.

"Love to all the homies that hit me and showed love about the emmy nom. Trav hit me first before anyone sayin congrats. It feels good to know I got real homies, real family out here that support me always."

While there may be another Trav in Cudi's circle, past tweets indicate he's talking about his multi-time collaborator Travis Scott.

The Wrap writes that Netflix scored the second-most nominations of any network or streaming provider with 103 nods. HBO and Max led the pack with a staggering 127 nominations, including 24 for The Last of Us and 27 for Succession.

"This is huge!!! Congrats to the whole team who busted their asses for 3 years and brought this bad boy to life!! Now, the big question: What to wear?" Cudi joked, seemingly assuring fans he'll bring his usual tasteful fashion choices to the ceremony.

The X actor thanked a bunch of individuals involved in bringing the star-studded film into the world. "Kenya Barris, Elizabeth Porter, Mike Moon, Mike Penketh, Fletch Moules, Maurice Williams, Ian Edelman, Karina Manashil, Dennis Cummings," he wrote. "This is the Entergalactic team behind the scenes that made my dream come to life, and I am so thankful for each and every one of these amazing people."

Entergalactic features the voices of Jaden Smith, Timothée Chalamet, Jessica Williams, Ty Dolla Sign, 070 Shake, Laura Harrier, Keith David.

The 39-year-old also nodded to his fans for their contribution to the project's success. "Entergalactic 3rd top searched show on Netflix behind Black Mirror and Stranger Things. I LOVE YALL MAN!! Thank u for spreadin the word. TELL ALL UR FRIENDS AND FAM!"
