XXXTentacion has had a busy past few days, signing and then canceling a reported $6 million record deal with Capitol's indie distributor Caroline. When XXX opted out of the deal, he said he "will not be releasing music for a very long time."
Not long after that announcement, though, came the first hints that walking away from the deal may not be that simple.
On Thursday, after the IG post proclaiming that the deal was off, Spin reported that they contacted one of XXX's reps, who said, "XXXTentacion is signed to Caroline/Capitol Music Group."
Complex reached out to XXXTentacion's team for clarification, and received the exact same statement.
