Yo Gotti has made it clear he doesn't like spending his hard-earned money on private flights.

Last weekend, the Collective Music Group boss was a guest on Big Boy's Neighborhood, where he explained that he "can't afford" private flights and only purchases first-class tickets.

"I don't even fly private," he said at around the 24:40 mark. "I can't afford it. I fly first class and I'm keeping my paper. I can't afford it up here [in my head]."

Yo Gotti also mentioned his artists would opt to fly private, such as 42 Dugg, whom he called "young and turnt."

"Some of 'em only fly private," said Gotti. "I was trying to get one of my artists to do some promo. He's like, 'It's cool, I'm gonna fly private though.' I'm like, 'I don't even fly private.'… Dugg young and turnt. He only fly private."

While Gotti is keeping an eye on his expenses, the Memphis native is doing the same with the hip-hop. During a recent appearance on Power 106 in Los Angeles, the CMG Records boss said the current state of hip-hop is "semi-boring" and blamed the pandemic for the lack of energy from artists.

"The rap game right now is semi-boring," Gotti shared. When asked if he thinks a lot of the music sounds the same today, the 42-year-old rapper agreed. "Exactly. I just feel like, since COVID, they put us in side and we never came out."

Gotti added, "The energy ain't been the same. I feel like mentally we been inside."

Yo Gotti said he hopes his latest project, the Gangsta Grillz mixtape I Showed U So, will help bring the energy back to hip-hop. "With this tape, I tried to make the outside music," Gotti shared.
