Allen Iverson Sends Post Malone Message After “White Iverson” Hit 1 Billion Spotify Streams

The song makes several references to the 2001 NBA League MVP.

Allen Iverson has given Post Malone his props after his 2016 hit single "White Iverson," which references the basketball legend, hit 1 billion streams.

On Monday, Spotify debuted the second episode of its show Billion Club: The Series, where Post Malone was honored for having his tenth song hit the coveted Spotify billion mark with "White Iverson." The episode showed Post celebrating the massive accomplishment with a game of beer pong backstage at the O2 Arena in London. 

"It feels super cool that the song does connect with people, and I'm just happy to bring… you know joy into anyone's life when I can," Post Malone said. "It's an amazing feeling for me, and that really gave me the confidence and the courage to keep attempting to do what I love. I just appreciate all the support, and it's the most beautiful feeling in the world for me. Thank you."

In a special video message, the 2001 NBA League MVP congratulated the "Circles" artist to commemorate his new achievement. According to AI, Post has to keep applying pressure. 

"Congrats on 1 billion Spotify streams," Iverson said. "The whole world loves this song and I'm honored to be a part of it. Keep that same form, Post."

Post Malone unleashed "White Iverson" in 2015 via Soundcloud and the track would later become the lead single of his debut album Stoney. The song peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ultimately got Post mainstream attention. 

"White Iverson" is also one of eight RIAA diamond-certified songs for Post. The official music video has garnered over 1 billion views since its release in 2015.
