Authorities are investigating a drive-by shooting that targeted the family home of Bankroll Fresh.

According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the suspect used an assault rifle to fire more than a dozen rounds at the Atlanta residence late Monday. Bankroll’s mother, Terisa Price, was in the home at the time of the shooting, along with the late rapper’s cousin 24-year-old Amanda Weaver. Though Price was not injured in the attack, Weaver was reportedly hospitalized with gunshot wounds to the leg and shoulder. She’s expected to make a full recovery.

“It’s a really senseless act, a complete disregard for human life,” Atlanta police Capt. Andrew Senzer told Channel 2 Action News. “Very fortunate that she was not injured more severely or killed.”

Officers are still searching for a suspect, as well as a motive.

The shooting occurred more than two years after Bankroll—real name Trentavious White—was fatally gunned down outside Street Execs Studios in southwest Atlanta. It is unclear if the recent drive-by was connected to the rapper’s death.

In a 2016 interview with VladTV, Bankroll’s childhood friend No Plug claimed he shot the rapper in self-defense: “He came out with his gun and shit, and shit happened,” No Plug said. “When he came out, [he was] playing with the shit. Just playing with the shit. He fired a shot. And shit happened. We pulled off. He ended up dead. As simple as shit was.”

No Plug has not been charged in the case.
