Lil Yachty on T.I.'s Gynecologist Comments: 'I'm Not Saying It's Right or Wrong—But It's His Child'

Lil Yachty has chimed in on the controversy surrounding T.I. and the treatment of his now 18-year-old daughter Deyjah Harris and her sex life, or lack thereof, courtesy of Too Fab.

Yachty essentially sticks to the philosophy that a child's parents have every right to parent as they see fit, and we shouldn't intervene. "I just feel like when it come to someone's children on such a personal matter, no one can honestly tell somebody how to raise their children, or how to take care of them or how to look after them," he said. "That's that man's child."

In his appearance on the Ladies Like Us podcast, T.I. revealed that he has been taking his daughter to see her gynecologist to "check her hymen," a poorly conceived interpretation of what it means to be a virgin.

"This is the thing," T.I. said, per MadameNoire. "Deyjah's 18, just graduated high school now and she's attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen."

Planned Parenthood responded via Twitter in an effort to inform everyone about how the hymen works, and why the state of the tissue shouldn't be the definitive demarcation for one's virginity.

Some people just naturally have hymens that are more open. And many other activities besides sex can stretch your hymen — like riding a bike, doing sports, or putting something in your vagina (like a tampon or finger). Once your hymen is stretched open, it can’t grow back.

Yachty, 22, admits that since he isn't a father himself, it's difficult for him to provide any input on this particular subject. "I'm not saying it's right or wrong — but it's his child," he said. "That's his daughter, he loves and has taken care of her."

As for how he would raise his own child, Yachty believes in the importance of building a solid foundation, saying, "I can't make every decision for you, but I'm definitely gonna put strong input on your life and try to guide you through darkness, so that when I'm not around you make the smart decisions."

The episode where T.I. made the aforementioned remarks has since been taken down.
