50 Cent on Dave Chappelle Attacker Not Facing Felony Charge: 'Is the LGBTQ Gonna Kill Dave Right in Front of Us?'

50 Cent took to Instagram to complain about the L.A. District Attorney declining to file a felony charge against the person who attacked Dave Chappelle.

50 Cent took to Instagram Thursday to complain about the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office reportedly declining to file a felony charge against the man who attacked Dave Chappelle during his stand-up spot during the Netflix Is a Joke festival at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl earlier this week.

“Oh Shit, is the LGBTQ gonna kill dave right in front of us?,” 50 wrote. “He had a weapon a gun, knife how he or she don’t get charged? 🤷🏽‍♂️The world is over, Fvck this.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, Chappelle’s attacker, who has been identified as Isaiah Lee, will not be charged with assault with a deadly weapon because prosecutors determined the comedian wasn’t assaulted with the deadly weapon, which has been described by LAPD as a “replica handgun with a knife blade inside,” as it remained in his bag at the time of the incident.

Chappelle joked to the crowd after the altercation that he was attacked by a trans man, presumably leading 50 Cent to believe that harm onto the comedian would happen at the hands of the LGBTQ community. The attacker has not been confirmed as being a member of the LGBTQ community. Dave made the remark about his attacker being trans in wake of the response to his transphobic comments in the Netflix special The Closer.

50 Cent later brought up DaBaby in his post, writing, “They would have charged your ass for thinking about doing that.” His remark is in reference to homophobic comments the Kirk rapper made during his Rolling Loud Miami performance last year. 50 previously highlighted a portion of The Closer on Instagram where the comedian claimed DaBaby’s music career didn’t suffer after he shot a Black man in Walmart, but he was heavily criticized after he “hurt a gay person’s feelings.”

“Dave Chappelle is a funny mother fucker that was flawless,” 50 wrote in response to the clip. “Hip hop loves things that are damaged, that’s the beauty of the culture. @dababy is on a new path music has changed everything.”
